Sexual Abuse

Are you or a loved one a survivor of sexual abuse?

At the Law Office of Darren Wolf, P.C. we work with our clients to transition from victims to survivors to changemakers. By stepping forward, our clients empower others to do the same. Our attorneys are trauma-informed, and we understand the lifelong impact of sexual abuse. Our office works with a network of attorneys who share our mission, and when we take a case, we exhaust every imaginable resource to serve our clients’ needs.

Even if you or a loved one was sexually abused or assaulted decades ago, our attorneys may be able to pursue a viable claim against the individual(s) and/or institution(s) responsible for the abuse. All too often, sexual abuse is made easier through the inaction of the owners of the places where it occurs—including at churches, sporting events, motels/hotels, bars, restaurants, truck stops, and gas stations.

Many states have passed laws that give survivors more time to pursue civil lawsuits by opening “lookback windows.” In these states, survivors have a “window” of time (typically 1-3 years) to file a civil lawsuit, regardless of when the sexual abuse occurred. Other states have eliminated the statute of limitations to pursue a civil lawsuit for child sexual abuse altogether—meaning survivors can step forward and pursue a lawsuit at any time, whether the abuse occurred 1 year ago, or 50 years ago.

Because of lookback windows and changing legislation, even if an attorney has already rejected your case, you may now have a viable claim. Please contact the Law Office of Darren Wolf, P.C., and our attorneys will walk you through the best way to pursue a case on your behalf and protect others from abuse in the future.
